Don’t Forget What You Said You Wanted

You might consider creating some form of accountability for yourself, too.

Today I’m coming to you because I said I would.

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of accountability I was hoping for because it’s late on Thursday, I’ve had a crazy day at camp, and there are a hundred reasons why I could have skipped this creative outlet today.

Since our last newsletter, I put something new in place: a 3:00 p.m. accountability group that meets Monday through Friday. We gather, ground ourselves in our vision and intention, support one another, and then get off the call to do the work.

The hope is that we hold ourselves accountable in ways that move the needle on our dreams more than we would if we were trying to do it alone.

In 2025, I actually paid thousands of dollars a month to participate in a group like this with a community of high-net-worth entrepreneurs. It was awesome. I’m not going to lie, I loved it. But it was far beyond my means to continue as a participant.

So when I was thinking about August and trying to move some big ideas forward, I thought, I need my 3:00 p.m. accountability group, but I I have a different spending plan for thousands of dollars a month, so I guess I’ll start my own.

I invited a small group of friends to try it out, and we just got started. But based on what I’ve already experienced, I can tell you it’s working.

Today on the call, I acknowledged that I hadn’t written my article yet or created anything for this newsletter. A beautiful soul in our group, generously offered to let me use an article she had written this week so I could take one thing off my plate.

Then another beautiful soul gently reminded me that wasn’t actually my goal.

My goal was to create.

I laughed because she was right.

What I had really created was a structure where I show up every day at 3:00 p.m. and spend time with people who are willing to lovingly say, “That’s an option, but wasn’t your real goal something else?”

And so, here we are.

I’m dictating this article into my phone. Soon I’ll clean it up, send it out, and have something meaningful to share. It’s probably the lightest lift possible, but it accomplishes exactly what I talked about last week: giving your creativity a deadline and not letting yourself off the hook.

You might consider creating some form of accountability for yourself, too. It could be an accountability group, a creative partner, or simply a commitment shared with a few trusted friends.

For me, the highest form has been a live Zoom call, Monday through Friday. We show up, declare our intentions, and then go do the work.

And it is remarkably effective.

As our beautiful teacher Christina reminds us at the end of her classes, we honor ourselves we honor one another. Namaste 💕

Give yourself a few minutes to listen to Renee’s podcast. She asked us if this was too vulnerable, and I will tell you it is one of the most perfect things I’ve ever listened to. Thank you for sharing, Renee. It really helped me today.

Don’t forget to join us for Sacred Sunday Yoga. It’s always free and it was such a great group last week. I really hope to see you at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Here’s the link to sign up.
