Write from the Heart

Years ago, I received a very clear message that I was going to teach something called Write from the Heart. There was only one small problem: I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do with this message. I had been “writing from the heart” for myself for years and years, but the idea of teaching others felt a bit vulnerable. So, I did what any perfectly reasonable person does when Spirit hands them something BIG before they’re “ready” for it. I tucked it away and held onto it.

Eventually, I began exploring this intuitive style of writing one-on-one with women during coaching sessions. Then I brought it into retreats, where I started witnessing what could happen when women were given the opportunity, the right prompts, and permission to get out of their heads and allow something deeper to come through. Over time, Write From the Heart evolved into what I also call Soul Scribing™, and I began to understand why I had been given that message all those years before.

Writing From the Heart is very different from sitting down and thinking about what we want to write. When we write from our brains, we tend to analyze, organize, question, edit, and try to figure everything out. Soul Scribing™ invites us to move beyond all of that and into a place of receiving. Instead of asking ourselves, “What should I write?” we create space to allow the words, feelings, images, and inner knowing to come through us.

Our brains certainly have an important job, but they also love to overthink, second-guess, and remind us of all the reasons something doesn’t make sense. Our souls aren’t nearly as concerned with making sense. The soul lovingly whispers what is true, what is ready to be seen, and sometimes what we didn’t even know we needed to hear. That is where the magic of Soul Scribing™ lives. It is not about figuring out the answer. It is about allowing ourselves to receive it and then believe it.

Even after seeing the impact this practice was having, it took me a long time to fully bring Soul Scribing™ out into the world publicly. It felt incredibly personal and sacred to me. But Spirit apparently had other plans! I kept receiving the nudges, signs, encouragement, and guidance that it was time to stop keeping it small. Spirit was cheering me on and reminding me that this wasn’t something I was meant to keep for myself or share with only a handful of women. It was meant to be shared across the globe.

I am so grateful that I finally listened and acted. I have watched women Soul Scribe their way into clarity, healing, new possibilities, forgotten dreams, and unexpected answers. I have seen this practice support women as they move through grief, navigate challenges, make tough decisions, and even experience shifts in perspective about our country and the world.

I have also witnessed incredible times when something comes through that is so mind blowing and perfectly timed that, as my Soul Sister Dorie says, “You can’t make this shit up!” 😂

Those are some of my favorite moments because I get to watch a woman realize just how much exists within her. She begins to uncover her own answers, wisdom, dreams, truths, and possibilities, along with pieces of herself that may have been buried beneath years of responsibilities, expectations, busyness, and listening to everyone else.

That is why I knew Writing from the Heart needed to become public. There are too many women searching outside themselves for clarity, direction, healing, and answers when there is incredible inner knowing waiting to be uncovered in each of us when we tune into our heart. Soul Scribing™ gives us a way to quiet the noise, open the door, and discover what has been waiting for us all along.

The best part is that you don’t have to be a writer, have perfect grammar or beautiful handwriting, and you don’t even need to have a clue what you’re going to write when you begin. (I totally love that!) You simply need a little curiosity and a willingness to allow, receive and then believe the loving, wise messages that come through your pen. Because you never know what your soul has been waiting to tell you, but you can guarantee, it’s just what you need know. 💗
